Title:
Hotel in the Clouds
Description:
Documentary about the first few months in the life of
London's newest five-star hotel, the Shangri-La in the
Shard. The hotel is the 90 million
pound flagship of an
Asian hotel empire and one of the first hotels in the UK to
bring traditional Asian hospitality. The programme follows
members of staff as they are interviewed for their new jobs
and
also during their crucial first few months after the
hotel's opening. 19-year-old chef Ollie lands his first job
straight out of college, sommelier Anne tries to teach other
novice restaurant staff about fine wine, including her
protege Angela, an under-confident waitress from a pizza
chain who feels completely out of her depth in the glitzy
five-star world of the Shangri-La. There are also the two
bellmen and childhood friends from Bermondsey, Thaddaeus and
Eddie, who have never even been in a five-star hotel before
