TV Recordings: 21-27 April 2012

The following programmes will be recorded during the week: 2012.

TV Recordings:

Title: Our Food
Episode: West of Scotland
Description: Giles Coren journeys across Britain to discover how the
landscape, history and climate shape food production in the
UK. Giles and the team head to the west of Scotland. This is
a wild, remote landscape where food was once all about
survival. Now Scottish food is prized the world over. Giles
learns how the deep sea lochs of the west are perfect for
salmon farming. A fish caught in a river is subsistence
food. A fish farmed and smoked is a billion dollar industry.
James Wong discovers why the warm, wet climate of the west
is so good for wild mushrooms, while Alys Fowler finds out
about the life and death role of the humble potato in the
Highland clearances
Broadcast: 25 Apr 2012, 20:00 (60 mins)

Title: The Apprentice
Episode: Street Food
Description: It is week six, and Lord Sugar sends the candidates to
Scotland, where they must make gourmet food and sell it on
the streets of Edinburgh. The teams decide on Italian
meatballs and Scottish stew, but before heading north there
is a spot of market research at one of London’s fancy
street food fairs. It is clear from what is served up that
there is more to this business than dishing up a burger and
chips. In Edinburgh, two top-notch chefs help cook up the
teams’ recipes, but when it comes to mass producing the
portions the stew is beefed up with pricey produce and the
meatballs are made on the cheap. The teams have one day to
sell from mobile units; one team tempts tourists with the
sound of bagpipes and they cash in on the lunch-time rush.
The others pitch up outside a football match, but soon find
that fans will not fork out for what’s on offer. Back in
the boardroom Lord Sugar chews over the results, and one
candidate gets their just desserts
Broadcast: 25 Apr 2012, 21:00 (60 mins)
