TV Recordings: 9th-15th January 2010

The following television programmes will be recorded this week (9th-15th January 2010). They will be made available to borrow from Adsetts in DVD format, as well as being viewable on campus using the VOD (Video On Demand) service. Title: Delia through the Decades

Description: Series celebrating Delia Smith's career and the
ways she has shaped what people eat and how they
cook it. She revisits her favourite recipes and
recreates some with a contemporary twist. Her
passion stemmed from watching her mother and
grandmother concoct beautiful dishes from
home-grown ingredients, and she revisits the
London restaurant where she worked as a waitress
amd was inspired by its chef. In the 1960s, Delia
worked as a food stylist and was asked to create a
'gaudy cake' for the cover of the Rolling Stones'
album Let It Bleed. This led to a meeting with a
literary agent who has played a huge part in her
remarkable television and publishing career

Description: Long-running documentary series which follows
seven obese children for a decade, revisiting them
every two years to find out about their
experiences as they grow up. Lucas is a
notoriously fussy eater, Lucas scavenges food from
his extended family, Kelsie comes from a family of
big girls and Bethany has a mother who believes
that healthy eating in schools has gone too far

Title: Kill It, Cook It, Eat It: Fast Food

Description: Series showing what it takes to turn a living
animal into meat for the table. This episode takes
a look back through the highlights, following the
journey six volunteers took when they came to
Pipers Farm. Whilst caring for the animals the
contributors chose the beasts for slaughter and
watched them die at the abattoir. With the meat
they made burgers, kebabs, sausages and nuggets.
By making the connection between the animals and
meat products, the ethics of the meat industry
could be debated

to see if vineyards can still produce good wine
with only half as much water
