BRAD now available online

British Rates and Data (BRAD) Online

BRAD is a well-known and long-established directory aimed at media planners and others in the advertising and public relations industries. It contains contact details, audience profiles, advertising rates and traffic statistics (in the case of electronic media) for about 14,000 publications, TV and radio stations, and websites. It also features news on title launches and closures. It provides the information needed to produce a costed advertising campaign plan.

In addition to the media directory, BRAD also has a Key Facts and Trends section. This includes advertising industry statistics, overall demographic and readership figures, and audited circulation and viewer/readership profiles from ABC, BARB, NRS, RAJAR and others. Statistical profiles can be obtained for national and regional newspapers, consumer and business publications, television and radio, new media, cinema, mobile, and out of home/outdoor advertising sites.

BRAD complements printed directories of newspapers and magazines like Willings Press Guide and Benn’s Media, and the statistical data available through the World Advertising Research Center database.

BRAD can be accessed via LitSearch or the library catalogue; a username and password is required, which is available from either source. Our subscription permits up to three concurrent users.

BRAD was published as a monthly directory from 1954 to 2009, but is now only available as an electronic service. Until it ceased as a print publication this year, it was held locally only by Sheffield Public Library.
